When a long-term client came to EPIC Audio Video with a plan to renovate a whole floor to better suit their love of live music and watching movies, the EPIC team jumped at the chance to design a dedicated entertaining area!
The 2-story home originally had an open-concept family room with a small second floor loft. The renovation plan was to separate the 2 floors and design the entire second floor for use as entertainment space.
EPIC Audio Video worked closely with the builder to provide extensive sound proofing and acoustical treatments which ensured the client could hold live performances in their private second floor night club without disturbing family on the first floor or neighbors nearby.
Night Club Area:
High powered ceiling speakers from Revel were installed for fill in all the seating areas in front of the stage.
Behind the band stage, extensive fabric was stretched for wall acoustics and our team designed 4 different sizes of floating acoustical clouds to help stop the sound from bouncing off the ceiling, which also allowed for up-lighting in the entire room with color changing LED lighting.
To further enhance the look and sound EPIC custom created a fiber optic star lite ceiling with twinkle and shooting stars. All controlled by a Savant Automation System.
Home Theater:
Adjoining the night club is a dedicated home theater featuring all the best bells and whistles.
A JBL Synthesis Dolby Atmos system
The Sony laser projector looks stunning on the 165” Display Technology masking screen which changes its aspect ratio to enhance whatever is being viewed by opening and retracting black masking above and below the image.
The EPIC team designed and built all the acoustics, including another fiber optic Star Lite ceiling for added effects in this area of entertainment as well as the night club.
The Family Room includes a Sony 8K TV. The 7-channel system is courtesy of Anthem electronics feeding a full Dynaudio speaker package and 4 JL Audio Subwoofers. The entire ceiling includes an acoustical stretch wall, which hides all the speakers and subwoofers resulting in a super clean and great sounding room.
Home Automation:
Savant touch screens provide control to the Lutron System and shades. The 2 racks of equipment proudly displayed behind glass doors and have extensive surge protection and thermal management.
12 zones of house audio and another surround system included on the first floor round out this amazing project.
